Step by step
How We Work
The same four steps apply whether it's four cameras in a house or access control across a multi-tenant building. Nothing gets installed before the scope is agreed in writing.

One integrator for every low-voltage system
UnifiedLink is a low-voltage systems integrator working across Ontario. We design, install, and support security cameras, alarms, access control, structured cabling, networking, audio, and display systems — the infrastructure a property runs on once the electricians and drywallers have gone.
Most properties end up with these systems installed by different trades at different times, none of whom talk to each other. The cameras sit on a network nobody documented, the door controller is on a switch with no spare ports, and no one can find the credentials. Planning them together avoids that, and it usually costs less than fixing it later.
Our team brings more than 12 years of experience across residential, commercial, and multi-tenant work. We quote what we can actually deliver, we say no when a request isn't a good fit, and we hand over documentation on every job.

Step by step
Your project in four clear steps
No mysteries: this is how every UnifiedLink installation runs, from first call to ongoing support.
- 1
Discover & Design
We ask what the property, the people, and the network actually need, then lay out device placement, cable routes, power, and future expansion.
- 2
Quote & Install
You get scope, exclusions, equipment ownership, and warranty in writing, then cable is run neatly, labelled, and terminated to a documented standard.
- 3
Configure & Test
Devices, recording, credentials, and network settings are set up properly, and every function is tested before we call the work finished.
- 4
Document & Support
You receive labelling, as-built notes, and account details you own, and we stay reachable for changes, additions, and troubleshooting.

In detail
What actually happens at each step
The short version is four steps. Here is what each one involves on site.

Discover & Design
We walk the property before we quote. Construction type, existing cabling, panel locations, network capacity, sightlines, and door hardware all change what is actually installable. You get a design that reflects the building in front of us — not a package sold from a price list.
- On-site or video walkthrough of every area in scope
- Camera sightlines and coverage gaps mapped room by room
- Existing network and cabling audited before anything is added

Quote & Install
The quote lists equipment, labour, cable runs, and exclusions in writing. Once approved, installation is booked as a scheduled window with a named technician. Cable is run to standard, terminations are tested, and devices are mounted where the design said they would go.
- Fixed written scope with exclusions stated up front
- Structured cabling terminated, tested, and labelled
- Clean device mounting and tidy panel work

Configure & Test
Hardware on a wall is not a working system. We configure recording schedules, retention, user accounts, access schedules, network segmentation, and remote access — then test each device under real conditions before we call it complete.
- Recording, retention, and motion rules set to your needs
- Access groups, credentials, and schedules configured
- Remote viewing verified on your own phone before we leave

Document & Support
You receive as-built notes, device locations, labelling, and your own administrator credentials. Nothing is locked to us. If you need changes later we already have the documentation to make them quickly — and if you move on, another integrator can too.
- As-built documentation and labelled panel handover
- Owner-held admin credentials, no vendor lock-in
- Support options for changes, additions, and callbacks
On the tools
The systems we install
Seven system families, planned together so they share one network, one design, and one point of contact.
On paper
What we put in writing
Before any cable is pulled, you receive the details in a document you can keep.
- Intended scope and what is explicitly excluded.
- Equipment supplied, and who owns it after installation.
- Warranty terms, and what falls outside them.
- Monitoring or subscription costs, if any apply.
- Cable routes, device locations, and power requirements.
- Handover details: labelling, as-built notes, and your credentials.
Straight answers
Where we draw the line
Being clear about the limits up front is cheaper for everyone than discovering them mid-install.
No quoting blind
We don't price a camera system from a floor plan alone. Sightlines, mounting surfaces, and cable paths decide the real cost.
No hidden lock-in
You own the equipment and hold the administrator credentials. Another integrator can take over without starting again.
No scope creep by surprise
If something changes on site, you hear about it and approve it before the work continues, not on the invoice.
What you gain
Why one integrator beats six contractors
What you get from planning every low-voltage system on the property together.
One accountable installer
Cameras, alarms, access control, network, audio, and displays planned together instead of by six separate trades.
Scope you can read
Equipment, exclusions, ownership, and warranty are written down before the first cable is pulled.
Cabling you can inspect
Routes planned for the building, terminated to a documented standard, and labelled at both ends.
Systems you actually own
Accounts, credentials, and as-built notes are handed to you at completion — no vendor lock-in.
What clients say
Reviewed by Ontario homeowners and businesses
Real feedback from recent security, networking, and AV installations across the province.
“They walked the property first, showed me the camera angles on paper, then installed exactly that. Cable runs are hidden, the NVR is labelled, and they set up remote viewing on my phone before they left.”
Daniel M.
Mississauga · 8-camera CCTV install
“Twelve drops, a proper patch panel, and a mesh setup that finally reaches the basement. Every port is numbered and they left a printed map of what goes where. No guesswork later.”
Priya S.
Markham · Structured cabling + WiFi
“Quote matched the invoice. They coordinated with our door hardware supplier, tested fail-safe on the fire panel, and trained two of our staff on adding and removing fobs.”
Rob T.
Hamilton · Access control, 3 doors
“Replaced a 15-year-old panel without tearing up walls. Sensors are clean, the app works, and they came back a week later to adjust a zone that kept tripping — no charge.”
Angela K.
Oakville · Alarm system upgrade
“Two 75" displays flush to the wall, all cables in-wall, speakers balanced room by room. They cleaned up completely and took the packaging with them.”
Marc L.
Ottawa · TV mounting + in-wall audio
“Cameras, door contacts and a network refresh across two locations, done after hours so we never closed. Documentation was handed over the same week.”
Sandra W.

Asked and answered
Your questions, answered
Short, direct answers about scope, ownership, coverage, and timing.
Do you work on homes as well as commercial buildings?
Both. Each service in the catalogue is marked residential, commercial, or both, so you can see what applies to your property before you ask.
How does a project start?
With a site assessment. We look at the property, confirm what it can support, then send a written scope covering equipment, cable routes, exclusions, ownership, and warranty.
Do I own the equipment and the accounts?
Yes. Devices, recorder accounts, and network credentials are registered in your name and handed over with documentation at completion.
Can you take over a system somebody else installed?
Often, yes. We assess the existing cabling and equipment first and tell you plainly what can be reused and what needs replacing.
Which parts of Ontario do you cover?
We list 66 Ontario locations. Availability still depends on the service and travel distance, so we confirm coverage against your address before quoting.
How quickly do you reply?
Requests sent during business hours are answered the same day. After-hours requests are returned the next business day.
